Team Captain - Ib Wienberg
Ib first flew in the Danish Nationals in 1965 and is four times Danish Champion. He also flew in four EGCs and four WGCs, including Benalla in 1987. He has also flown in many Coppa Internazionale del Mediterraneo competitions in Rieti. Ib is a regular visitor to Corowa or Tocumwal during the Australian summer.
Now retired, Ib spends most of the northern summer at the Danish National Gliding Centre in Arnborg, joined by his wife Kirsten. “I do a flight now and then, achieving an occasional Danish record when luck and good weather go together,” he said.
“Kirsten and I are looking forward to repeating the experience of our first stay at Benalla Caravan Park, which we enjoyed 30 years ago.”
